Metro Retro boards have two modes, Design Mode and Meeting Mode.
Design Mode is for editing the board layout, and Meeting Mode is for collaborating with others. Each mode has a unique set of controls available, and the left toolbar changes to give you the appropriate tools for each.
Read our Toolbar guide for full details of what each tool does.
When you start Meeting Mode on a board, you become the Host and get access to Host controls at the top of the board. Everyone else becomes a participant and cannot edit the board layout.
As the Host you can switch to Design Mode at any time to edit the board layout. Everyone else remains in Meeting mode while you make your changes.
Click on the 'You're in Design Mode!' indicator at the bottom of your board viewport
Lock layout | Locks all board objects in position - individual objects can be unlocked by selecting them |
Publish as template | Add the board to your template library - Set a name, description and add categories |
Unlock everything | Unlocks all board objects |
Set starting point | Sets the start position and zoom level for anyone entering the board for the first time |
The controls shown at the bottom of the screen in Meeting Mode are dependent on the settings enabled in the Host controls.
A | The Meeting Host has used Hide Identities to set all participants to anonymous |
B | The Meeting Host has enable Private Writing to allow you to show/hide your sticky notes |
C | The Meeting Host has turned off Private Writing & Anonymous mode - there are no 'special' collaboration features active in the meeting |
